Our 2nd Annual Run with Zombies is approaching fast, and last year we had such a blast, that we’re doing it again. If you are interested in volunteering, please call the YMCA and speak with Barbara Firth, Volunteer Coordinator, or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org. We have openings for water stop people, as well as people to direct runners in the right direction.
No matter the age, we welcome everyone to participate in our family-oriented fall fun run. According to an article in Readers’ Digest, families that spend time together build precious memories, and meet each persons’ physical and social needs. Family habits may be hard to establish, but once you do, you’ll find that conversations and connection will come naturally.
Contributing as a family not only helps the community, but also strengthens the family in the process. There are many opportunities during the fun run this year, that you can contribute as a family. A water stop is a great one. Or, you may be interested in helping with the follow up after the run, and helping with our snacks, as well as our pumpkin carving or picture-time.
If the kids prefer to get dressed up as zombies, and run or walk the route, we applaud that choice as well. We will have some makeup for those who don’t, and can help “zombify” them before the race.
