General Information

Weight Room Orientation:
The YMCA offers weight room orientation for new members, as well as existing ones. Orientations consist of a tour of the building, instruction on using the cardio equipment, and a brief instruction in either the Wellness Centre or Fitness Centre. Appointments are generally from 30-45 minutes, and can be made at the ServiceDesk. (Appointments are for members only.)

Incline, flat, & decline benches
Free weights ranging from 3-110 lbs
Free standing barbell rack with various weights ranging from 30-135 lbs
2 Cybex Arc Trainers
2 Cybex Steppers
2 Concept 2 Rowers
8 Treadmills
Recumbent & Upright Bikes
2 Squat Racks
Cybex Strength Training machines for abdominals, arms, back & glutes
Fully equipped Wellness Centre including Keiser air-assisted equipment
Inversion table
Two stretching areas
Air Conditioned spin room with 13 Keiser Spin Bikes

Fitness/Cardio Centre Etiquette

Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times.
No open-toe or black-soled shoes.
No food or drinks.
Treat others with respect or you may be asked to leave.
Return all weights after use.
Do not put weights on benches.
Offer to share strength-training equipment in-between sets.
No offensive language.
Sign up for cardio equipment and respect time limits please.
Towels and spray bottles are located in various locations – please clean seats and handles after use.
We do supply a limited number of yoga mats for classes. You are advised to bring your own if possible.
It is advised to arrive early to guarantee your space in each class.

Group Opportunities:
The Yarmouth YMCA offers groups the opportunity to come into our facility, have a guided tour, try out the full facility, participate in a sample class, or use the fitness equipment. Groups wishing to take advantage of this can do so by appointment for free, on a one-time basis.

The YMCA also has special day pass rates for groups of 10 or more. For further information, contact us.
